Big things just happened to Facebook Business Pages. Here’s what you need to know…

Anyone who has been managing a Facebook Business Page over the last two years knows how difficult it has become to get engagement, let alone increased business, from that page.

Well, it looks like Facebook is (finally) trying to make up for this problem, and they’re rolling out a handful of new features and functions that truly change the game for page managers.

Messenger for Pages

Businesses can now communicate directly with individuals (and in the style of an individual) via Facebook Messenger, and it’s more than just an extension of corporate personhood to social media.

It’s a game changer.

Add to this the “Message” button that sits prominently below the bright, bluecall-to-action button on mobile, and you’ve got an instant connection to any inquiry from a potential customer.

“Yeah, but I’m not sitting on Facebook all day, available to talk to people!”

Well, lucky for you, Facebook has enabled “Saved Replies” and even “Instant Replies” that will allow you to not only automate but also personalize the content of those replies.

Even better, you can access these functions via Facebook’s Pages Manager app from your mobile device as well.  The mobile app enables page managers to act fast in response to inquiries, and if you act fast enough, your page will earn the coveted “Very Responsive” indicator (see below).

For those page managers who have been waiting for viable options for e-commerce within Facebook (as opposed to driving users to an external sales page, with the associated drop-off), at least two new sections are coming to Business Pages: “Services” and “Store”.

As Facebook tells it:

“The new Shop section helps retail businesses bring their products to the forefront of their Page, while the new Services section enables professional services businesses to showcase a list of their offerings at the top of their Page. So now, for example, a spa can add their services menu to their Page or highlight the line of products they sell, helping people get to know their business faster. And understanding the services and products a business offers is key to deciding to work with that business.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of improvements coming to Business Pages. You can learn everything about these updates and how you and your business can benefit from them at our Members Club.
